Stumbled Quotes

May 21, 2011

I no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life, if you were lucky, you might just meet someone who is exactly right for you. Not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combines flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together.

I’ve learnt that…

  • you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
  • no matter how much I care, some people just don’t care back.
  • it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
  • it’s not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts.
  • you can do something in an instant that will give you a heartache for life.
  • no matter how thin you slice it, there are always two sides
  • you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
  • we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
  • there are people who love you dearly, but just don’t know how to show it.
  • true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
  • just because someone doesnt love you the way you want them to, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have.
  • maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.
  • no matter how good a friend someone is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
  • no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn’t stop for your grief.
  • just because two people argue, it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. And just because they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean they do.
  • we don’t have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
  • you shouldn’t be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
  • there are many ways of falling and staying in love.
  • no matter how many friends you have, if you are their pillar, you will feel lonely and lost at the times you need them most.
  • the people you care most about in life are taken from you to soon.
  • although the word “love” can have many different meanings, it loses value when overly used.
  • love is not for me to keep, but to pass on to the next person I see.
  • there are people who love you dearly but just don’t know how to show it.
  • even when I have pains, I don’t have to be one.
  • every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love that human touch-holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.
  • I still have a lot to learn……

Shes the girl
that believes that what comes around goes around.
The one that hopes for a better day.
The one that won’t give up on you.
She’s the girl that’s unlike the rest.
The one that spent her days smiling,
and her nights crying.
She’s the girl that would love to be loved.
The one that looks so damn strong, but feels so weak.
She’s the girl that picks herself up every time she falls

Find a guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or will stay awake just to watch you sleep… wait for the boy who kisses your forehead, who wants to show you off to the world when you are in track pants, who holds your hand in front of his friends, who thinks you’re just as pretty without makeup on. One who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares and how lucky he is to have YOU… The one who turns to his friends and says, “thats her”….

If Tomorrow Starts Without Me…

May 21, 2011

If tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things, we didn’t get to say.

I know how much you love me, as much as I love you!
And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand; she said my place was ready, in heaven far above and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye for all my life,
I’d always thought I didn’t want to die; I had so much to live for, so much left yet to do, it seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad; I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while; I’d say good-bye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized that this could never be, for emptiness and memories would take the place of me; when I thought of worldly things I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through Heaven’s Gates, I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me, from his great golden throne,
He said, “This is Eternity and all I’ve promised you.”

Today your life on earth is past but here life starts anew. I promise no tomorrow but today will always last; and since each day’s the same way there’s no longing for the past.

You have been so faithful, so trusting and so true; though there were times you did some things, you knew you shouldn’t do. But you have been forgiven and now at last you’re free; so won’t you come and take my hand and share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart…

Send this to all those you care about… because you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow. Show them how you care, before it’s too late.

“Happiness is a Choice.”
May God watch over you and your family now and always.
There is no right time to do the wrong thing… there is no wrong time to do the right thing.

Each of you has touched my life in a very special way. I thank God for each one of you and count it a privilege to call you a “Friend!”

God Be With You!

21 Things I wish I’d known when I was 21

May 20, 2011

Alright, so I am not that far off of being 21 years old. But i found this advice that I believe can still help.

1. Champagne, Vodka, Gin and Beer don’t mix well

2. If he’s not ever calling before 11 p.m., he’s not interested in a real relationship.

3. “Comfort” and “security” aren’t big enough reasons to stay with someone.

4. Guys don’t care about — or even notice — those 10 extra pounds.

5. Love is rarely packaged the way you expect it to be.

6. It’s generally much kinder to be be direct with someone than pussy-foot around the truth in order to spare feelings.

7. One of the biggest keys to making friendships last is being flexible in your expectations.

8. If your happiness with someone is contingent on one little thing he or she needs to change, cut your losses and move on.

9. If you don’t have the money to pay cash for it, don’t buy it.

10. Box dye jobs look like box dye jobs (especially if you’re going for red).

11. If his friends hate you, your days together are probably numbered.

12. Relationships are not supposed to be hard in the beginning.

13. If he says he doesn’t want a relationship, he really means it.

14. Eyebrows really don’t grow back if they’re overly tweezed.

15. Nude underwear is really the only acceptable color to wear under white pants.

16. This moment — however good or bad it is — will be just a blip on the radar two years from now.

17. If he seems obsessed with his ex, he probably is.

18. Holding a grudge is bad for your back (and soul).

19. When a vet says your cat has cancer, get a second opinion before you let him operate!!! — I think this one was a personal one…

20. A teaspoon is not the same thing as a tablespoon.

21. Buying it one size too small won’t make you lose weight any faster.

I love when I find lists on StumbleUpon that I can relate to. This one for the most part has been a great help in myself understanding some of the things happening around me and how to handle situations. Each day gets better, and if not each day is a new one.

Secrets

April 25, 2011

“There are two types of secrets, those we keep from others and the ones we hide from ourselves.” –Post Secret

A few years back a friend of mine showed me a book. The book was filled with images of postcards that were drawn on, written on, and pasted cut out images all telling a story. They were secrets, from around the United States. Someone took their time to write/illustrate their deepest darkest secret and anonymously share it with a stranger. Frank Warren started the experiment without any intentions that the process would catch on. Warren sent multiple postcards out to people instructing them to write their deepest secret and mail the postcard back to his address. Now Warren receives thousands of secrets daily and every Sunday picks a few to share with the world. When looking at the website (http://www.postsecret.com/) a secret can shock you or make you smile. I encourage you to check out the website every Sunday or send in a secret of your own… everyone has a secret, share it with another.
